Assistant Professor, Kent State University

Kent State University’s Department of Philosophy is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Philosophy to begin Fall 2024. The position requires an AOS in 19th & 20th Century Continental Philosophy. The successful candidate will have an AOC in one or more of the following: African/Africana Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, Latin American Philosophy, Asian Philosophy, or Social/Political Philosophy.

New faculty will join a vibrant, highly research active, and collaborative department. Information about the Department is available at https://www.kent.edu/philosophy.

6 courses per year, undergraduate and graduate. Some MA thesis supervision. Usual non-teaching duties. Applicants should be able to teach our Late Modern Philosophy course, which starts with Kant. Details about this course are available at https://www.kent.edu/philosophy/.

Ph.D. in Philosophy, undergraduate teaching experience, and research/publication record required.
