Call for Papers
The Canadian Society for Continental Philosophy will hold its annual conference from September 24 to 26, 2020 at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Confirmed plenary speakers include
- Edward S. Casey (SUNY Stony Brook)
- Scott Marratto (Michigan Technological University)
- Philipp Schwab (Albert Ludwigs Universität Freiberg)
- Ewa Ziarek (SUNY Buffalo).
We invite submissions on any theme relevant to the broad concerns of continental philosophy, in the form of either:
COMPLETE PAPERS (between 3000 and 4000 words, exclusive of notes and references), with brief abstracts (150 words). Papers longer than 4000 words are unacceptable both at the time of submission and at the time of delivery
or
PANELS, consisting of three complete papers (of no more than 2500 words each, exclusive of notes and references), with brief abstracts (150 words each).
Instructions for Submission:
1. Prepare your paper for anonymous review, with personally identifying information (name, institutional affiliation) appearing only in your submission email.
2. Include in your submission only one document, containing both abstract and paper. Panel proposals should likewise be grouped into one file.
3. Submit only one paper for consideration.
4. Identify the word-count of both the paper and the abstract.
5. If you are a graduate student, identify yourself as such in your submission email in order to be eligible for the graduate student essay prize. The winner will be announced at the congress and will be considered for publication in Symposium: Canadian Journal of Continental Philosophy.

We understand that these are uncertain times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We currently plan to hold the CSCP/SCPC conference as normal, but are considering contingency plans should travel in September not be possible or advisable. We will be in touch with any further developments.

Nous vous invitons à soumettre des propositions de communication et de table ronde portant sur la philosophie continentale. Veuillez soumettre:
Le texte intégral de votre communication (de 3000 à 4000 mots, sans compter les notes et références), accompagné d’un court résumé (150 mots). Les soumissions de plus de 4000 mots ne seront pas acceptées, ni au moment de la soumission ni au moment de la présentation.

Pour un projet de table ronde, 3 communications en version intégrale (max. 2500 mots chacune, sans compter les notes et références), accompagnées de courts résumés (150 mots chacun).
Instructions pour la soumission :
1. Veuillez préparer votre soumission pour une évaluation anonyme (texte et résumé anonymes en pièces jointes, et toute information personnelle dans votre courriel).
2. Notez que nous n’accepterons qu’une seule soumission par personne.
3. Veuillez nous soumettre un seul fichier joint, contenant votre résumé et votre communication (ou vos résumés et communications, dans le cas d’une proposition de tableronde).
4. Veuillez indiquer le nombre de mots de la version intégrale et du résumé.
5. Si vous êtes étudiant-e aux cycles supérieurs, veuillez l’indiquer dans votre courriel afin de participer à notre concours pour la meilleure soumission étudiante. Le nom de la personne gagnante sera annoncé lors du congrès, et le texte sera considéré pour publication dans la revue Symposium.

La pandémie de COVID-19 représente pour tous une période d’incertitude. Nous prévoyons actuellement de tenir la conférence CSCP/SCPC comme prévu, mais nous envisageons également des plans de contingence au cas où des déplacements en septembre s’avéreraient impossibles ou déconseillés.
