Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

Coppin State University is a HBCU in the University of Maryland system. Great emphasis is placed on teaching. A promising research profile will be strongly considered. However, those who apply must have demonstrable teaching experience in the History of Philosophy, with a focus in 19th to 21st Century Continental Philosophy.

The successful candidate will have an area of concentration in African American and Black Feminist Philosophy– in particular, familiarity with the Black Radical Tradition and Black Studies.

In addition to regular department duties, faculty responsibilities will focus primarily on teaching Philosophy General Education and upper-level undergraduate courses. However, it is expected to that candidate will participate in interdisciplinary development both within the Department of Humanities and outside the department.

4/4 teaching load. Salary is competitive and non-negotiable.
