The Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites application for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning on August 7, 2023.

The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in Philosophy or cognate field in hand by time of appointment. AOS: Ancient or Medieval Philosophy. AOC: open. The Ph.D. program in Philosophy at USF has a major emphasis in the History of Philosophy. Normal teaching load is 2/2; 9-month appointment, with the expectation of active engagement with and supervision of Ph.D. students. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one year of teaching experience in one of the listed areas of specialization, with records of strong research combined with outstanding continued research potential and demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy, and to those with potential to contribute to USF’s strategic plan (https://www.usf.edu/president/strategic-renewal/).
