The Journal of Continental Philosophy is currently seeking submissions for a special issue on “Digital Conditions” guest edited by Professor Ewa Ziarek.
The theme of the special issue, “Digital Conditions,” explores the impact of digital and AI technologies on thinking, politics, justice, labour, democratic plurality, feminisms, critical race philosophy, as well as theories of language and art. It also calls for critiques of the unevenly distributed social and ecological harms of these technologies, which include but are not limited to the rise of authoritarianisms, new forms of imperialisms and of power. Although the title of the special issue implicitly evokes Hannah Arendt’s Human Condition, this reference is meant to be merely suggestive, as the topic of “digital conditions” calls for multiple philosophical and interdisciplinary perspectives.
