The graduate program in philosophy at Boston College specializes in Continental Philosophy, History of Philosophy, and Ethics and Social Philosophy. We have distinguished faculty working on Heidegger, Levinas, Lacan, Arendt, Habermas, Husserl, Foucault, and Kierkegaard, as well as on topics such as narrative theory, philosophy of literature, critical theory, and psychoanalysis. The department admits approximately five students from an applicant pool of 140 every year. All are fully funded for five years. We also admit 15-20 new Master’s students every year. At present, we have no financial aid for Master’s students.
