CFP for Collected Volume on Borders and Liminality in Philosophy and Literature

We are currently seeking finished, previously unpublished articles for an edited anthology under contract, entitled “Transgressing the Limit: Borders and Liminality in Philosophy and Literature.” These articles will serve as substitute pieces for authors who have dropped out of the volume.

This anthology takes on a broad perspective, exploring ways in which boundaries are transgressed, borders crossed, and binaries dismantled; it is further interested in the interdisciplinary approach of philosophy and literature in order to elucidate these complex experiences. The particular section of the book for which we seek articles focuses on the politics of borderland national identities and those living in the interstices between nations.

The first article we are seeking is on the following topic(s):
● Racial and ethnic ‘border crossing’ in America
● Chicana identities and mestiza consciousness
● Passing and ‘reverse passing’
● Subversions of sociopolitical and economic racial boundaries

The second article we are seeking is on the following topic(s):
Israel and Palestine
India and Pakistan
Anglo-Indian identities
Greece and Turkey / Cyprus

The deadline for completed articles (5000-7000 words; MLA style guidelines) is November 30, 2016. The article, along with a 500 word abstract and a brief bio, can be sent to: borderprojectabstracts@gmail.com
