“Aesthetics and Gender”

In the debate initiated in the journal “Estetyka i Krytyka” – “Polish Journal of Aesthetics” we offer the reflection on the issue of aesthetics and gender. We welcome proposals from a broad range of disciplines including philosophy, aesthetics, comparative literature, art history, gender studies, cultural studies and other relevant disciplines. We also invite artists, working on relevant themes/subjects, to present their papers at this volume. We aim to provide a supportive, engaging space for all researchers working on the topic of aesthetics and gender. Possible topics may include, but are by no means limited to: gender identity, biological sex vs. gender, relevant topics in aesthetics generally and especially the work of female aesthetician(s), “Feminine” Vs “Masculine” Art, analysis/application of feminist criticism, androgyny in art/literature/film, representations of sexuality in art/literature/film, “Masculine” or un-“feminine” females in art/literature/film.
Full papers should be emailed to: estetykaikrytykauj@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is 15th November 2015 and we aim to respond to applicants with the results of our selection processes by 30th November 2015.
We invite all the Authors to read the instructions “To the Authors” and make sure that the text is complete (with abstract, key words, bibliography, note on the Author) before submission.
Volume “Aesthetics and Gender” 41 (2/2015) will be released in English.
