Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Philosophy aims to fill two positions to begin Fall 2014 and 2015. Assistant/Associate Professor of Philosophy, tenure-track. AOS: Classical Phenomenology; AOC: competence especially in one or more of these areas: embodied cognition; phenomenology and psychology/psychiatry; feminism; environmental philosophy; and other interdisciplinary directions. Assistant/Associate Professor, tenure-track. AOS: Continental Philosophy; AOC: French feminism; Nietzsche; political and social thought of a continental cast.

Successful candidates for either position will have a record that indicates strong research potential and demonstrated experience in teaching philosophy. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching (4 courses per year, i.e., 2 per semester), dissertation and thesis supervision, and standard nonteaching duties. Salary and benefits are competitive.
