HAMILTON COLLEGE, Clinton, NY.
The Philosophy Department at Hamilton College invites applications for the Chauncey Truax Post- Doctoral Fellowship in Philosophy. The position is a two-year appointment to begin July 2010, with a teaching load of three courses per year. AOS and AOC are open. Completion of the dissertation by time of appointment is expected. You will work half-time for the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method and half-time for the Forum for European Philosophy, assisting the Director.
In the former role, you will teach and conduct research in the Department. In the latter role, you will be responsible for promoting the Forum's vision of philosophy as a meeting place for different disciplines, through the organisation of public events and the initiation and pursuit of interdisciplinary research projects.
You should have a PhD by the time of appointment and a record of excellence in teaching and research in philosophy, as well as an aptitude for event organisation. We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests in philosophy of psychology, biology, social sciences and/or cognitive sciences.

The UNT Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies is the world’s leading department in the area of environmental philosophy, complemented by a specialization in religion and ecology/nature. University of Oregon: Assistant Professor of Philosophy (Continental Philosophy)
The Department of Philosophy is searching for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy with an area of specialization (AOS) in Continental Philosophy (with particular interest in critical theory, post-structuralism, 19th century philosophy). The area of competence (AOC) is open, but the Department is especially interested in teaching competence in Asian, Feminism, Modern Philosophy, Logic, and Philosophy of Science.
Expectations of teaching include: introductory, middle level and advanced undergraduate courses, graduate teaching in the area of specialization, mentoring of graduate student research, and directing theses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The University of Oregon is on the academic quarter system and the standard teaching load is presently five courses across three terms each year.
Undergraduate teaching experience, an appropriate record of research and publication, and a PhD are required. Salary will be competitive depending on qualifications.

Canada Research Chair in Environment, Culture and Values
The Department of Philosophy at Laurentian University invites applications for the position of a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Environment, Culture and Values at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants for this tenure-track position should demonstrate a strong record of research relative to the stage of their career and evident potential to emerge as an internationally recognized scholar. The position will be contingent on being approved by the Canada Research Program. The candidates should have the ability to attract excellent graduate students and have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching in both the graduate and the undergraduate level. The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment to the department of philosophy and will have an active research interest linking environment with one or more of the following areas: aesthetics, ethics, epistemology, public policy, science and technology, gender, health, cultural studies, philosophy of nature and indigenous studies. Candidates are expected to complement the pre-existing strengths of Laurentian’s philosophy department, areas that include contemporary continental philosophy, aesthetics, ethics, gender and health studies, social and political thought, and environmental philosophy. A strong commitment toward interdisciplinary research would be an asset. They will also be expected to link with a wide range of initiatives and graduate programs at Laurentian including the participation in, and the supervision of graduate work in, the Interdisciplinary Humanities M.A. in Interpretation and Values and the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Human Studies.
Normally, the Tier II competition is open to candidates who have at most ten years experience from the highest degree at the time of nomination.

Philosophy of Science
The Department of Philosophy at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for one tenure-track appointment with specialization in Philosophy of Science.
