The sixteenth issue of theory@buffalo considers the multi-faceted dynamics of Catherine Malabou, visiting professor of Comparative Literature at the State University of New York at Buffalo, whose work spans genres that include philosophy, psychoanalysis, gender studies, politics, critical theory, and neuroscience. Gathering scholars to engage critically with Malabou’s work, the editors of issue sixteen look forward to introducing an eventful volume devoted to a renowned figure in contemporary theory whose work is increasingly growing international interest. Contributors to the volume currently include Andrew Benjamin, Arne de Boever, Penelope Deutscher, Adrian Johnston, Catherine Malabou, Steven Miller, and Ewa Ziarek.
The editors welcome essays that relate to any aspect of Malabou’s work, with particular emphasis on her development of plasticity, biopolitics, mutability, subjectivity, the archive, and deconstruction. Theory@buffalo also accepts book reviews, which can be on any topic and must be 1,200 words or less. All other submissions should be no longer than 10,000 words.
